Background

Some basic background info regarding Focused and Free and its founder, Karl D Rhoads.

The purpose of Focused and Free is to help people become and remain "Focused on the Truth that sets us Free."

Initially, I built this website simply as a means to share my faith in God through Christ. Today, my purpose is to help to those who are actively participating in a 12-Step program of recovery and are frustrated with the nebulous "God as we understand Him" issue that is so prevalent in many 12-step groups.

To that end, this site features content that specifically addresses recovery based upon Christian principles. This is something Alcoholics Anonymous (A.A.) initially set out to do. Unfortunately, A.A. (as a whole) has succumbed to public pressure to cast aside the Christian principles upon which it was founded.
