The Narrow Gate Recovery Group
This is a new group serving Aurora, Colorado
"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is
the road that leads to destruction, and many people enter through that gate. But the gate is small and the path is
narrow that leads to true life, and only a few people find and take that path."
--Matthew 7:13-14
Then the Narrow Gate Recovery Group is here to serve
you!
This is a new group that is just now forming. Meetings will generally be 90 minutes in duration
and will be 12-Step oriented. The meetings will be held once a week; additional meeting times will be added as
needed. Initially, the group will meet in-house, just like the pioneers of Alcoholic Anonymous did.
If this is something you would be interested in, please call Karl at 720-331-9059 between the
hours of 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday - Friday.

Our Purpose
Statement
The purpose of the
Narrow Gate Recovery Group is to promote the Christian principles that the founders of Alcoholics Anonymous
originally applied in their recovery, and to provide support for those who desire to participate in
recovery-group meetings, based upon those principles and as practiced in the pioneer recovery group that
began in Akron, Ohio, with Dr. Bob Smith and his wife, Anne.
The Narrow Gate
Recovery Group is in no way affiliated with, nor represents, Alcoholics Anonymous or any other 12-step
recovery program - in whole or in part. Neither are we aligned with any religious sect, denomination, or
cult. Just like the original group of recovering alcoholics that formed in Akron, Ohio, our purpose is to
help those who have a desire to recover from a seemingly hopeless state of mind and
body.
"As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another" (Proverbs
27:17).
There is nothing more
effective than one-on-one recovery; one addict or alcoholic working with another. By the same token, "there
is only One who has all power, that One is God". Therefore we feel that by returning to the original program
of recovery that was firmly based upon Christ-centered, New Testament principles, we not only gain sobriety,
we also discover the greatest treasure of all - a new life in Christ!
"For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his
life?"
(Mark 8:36; cf. Matt 16:26 and Luke 9:25).
The Narrow Gate
Recovery Group, in and of itself, is not meant to replace or supplant any other 12-Step organization or
program of recovery. Neither do we make any claims as to the efficacy of the support we offer. We are not
professionals in any sense of the word. We are simply people who have a desire to work the steps with Christ
as our foundation and to share our experience, strength, and hope in Christ - in a meeting - without being
told that it isn't appropriate or being shunned because we share the same belief as the founders of
Alcoholics Anonymous
IF YOU LONG TO
PARTICIPATE IN 12-STEP MEETINGS WHERE CHRIST IS THE CORNERSTONE OF YOUR RECOVERY, then I invite you to join
with The Narrow Gate Recovery Group here in Aurora, Colorado, to form and sponsor groups comprised of
like-minded people who practice the principles of recovery with the “Good Shepherd” as the
God of our understanding.

The Life
Recovery Workbook:
A Biblical Guide through the Twelve
Steps
As a complement
to "The Life Recovery Bible," "The Life Recovery Workbook" leads the recovering addict into
reflection and practical application. By placing the twelve steps of recovery into a firm
biblical context, the workbook brings scriptural principles into personal focus. Contemporary
"Recovery Profiles," expanded descriptions of each of the 12 steps, and open-ended questions
work in unison with "The Life Recovery Bible."
Far more than
just teaching about the 12 steps, the workbook is a guide to an in-depth working of the steps,
making the principles of recovery come alive for "one day at a time" living.
